This year, Allan Scurr took out the photo of the year honour at the state governing body’s awards night in Brisbane last Saturday.

Scurr did an excellent job providing photographic coverage of the event for The Chronicle on top of his role as official Tour photographer in what was his first time shooting cycling.

Cycling Queensland Vice President and Tour of Toowoomba Event Director, John Osborne, praised Allan on “doing a great job.  That’s the first time he’d ever covered a cycling event and we put him on the back of a motorbike and in a helicopter”.
