Elevating the commonplace-Still life drawing & watercolour
Still life has a long tradition in art, but is lwss seen these days. Explore this much admired genre and connect with centuries of artists, through the mediums of drawing and waercolour. Through tandem teaching, Deb and Roslyn will develop your technical skills as well as your aesthetic arrangement and interpretation of everyday objects.

Artist and tutor, Don Milner will unlock the mysteries of acrylics as he leads you through the process of creating a seascape.

An approach to Pastel
Participant in this workshop will be exploring ways of making marks with soft pastel and gel pen on black paper. WE eill be learing to recognise the different tones created by light as it passes over objects, the landscape and the human figure. Working from favourite objects, photos and a clothed life model, we will spend time producing sketches of stil life, landscape, urban landscape and the clothed figure.

Travesing the inner and outer landscape-acrylics and mixed media
Using acrylics and mxed media, transfer your inner and outer narrative into a series of acrylic and mixed media works. A variety of techniques and processes will idealy suit those who enjoy being challenged beyond the 'literal' and into the unknown, thereby charting a new course in direction. This workshop is largely explorative in nature, with an emphasis on the symbolic, yet conceptually sound. It is anticipated that participants will create a series of works, sometimes working on a few at a time, to maximize this exploratory approach.

Beginners Printmaking without a Press
Playing, exploring and creating images with basic printmaking techniques. Printmaking opens the doors to the hands on experience that support the development of basic drawing skills. Even if you think you can't draw, you can still make a line of some kind. We will be playing in the areas of monoprint, collage plate, stencils and mark making.

Wildlife Art-drawing techniques in graphite, pen & ink
This workshop aims to give the participants the confidence to experiment with graphite and with pen and ink when painting wildlife. Participants will use graphite pencils and pitt artist pens to create an artwork that will include a range of techniques. Basic design, composition, working from life and photos will be covered. By the completion of each workshop day, the participants will have enough understanding of the mediums to produce pleasing drawings on their own.
